The calico who takes ornaments personally
A 3-beat Christmas story in pale butter gold, deep pine, pale blush and raspberry.
Why the lowest branch is always bare
Every cat home learns it in the first December: the lowest ornaments never last. This set tells the story in three storybook illustrated prints: one chunky calico with big amber eyes, drawn in clean fine lines, chunky hand-lettered capitals and a palette of pale butter gold, deep pine, pale blush and raspberry.
The Bauble Hunter Trio crouches beside the tree, makes off with a red ornament held high like a trophy and then, with a perfectly straight face, lies down and pats the next one on the branch just to see what happens. Funny first, festive second, calico all the way through.
Three prints, one short story
Bauble Hunter
The setup on pale butter gold: crouched low beside the tree, one paw reaching for the baubles.
One Down, Forty to Go
The grab on deep pine: up on two legs, a red ornament held high, the tree left bare.
Gravity Check
The aftermath on pale blush: lying on its side, one slow paw on the next ornament.
